Approval Letter - Dr. Strang

June 2, 2020

Dear Mr. White:

Thank you for providing return to work guidelines (the ”Proposal”) for Physiotherapists.  I have reviewed the proposal re-submitted on June 1, 2020 and consulted with Occupational Health and Safety Police colleagues at the Department of Labour and Advanced Education.  I approve the Proposal, and therefore I am pleased to advise the registrants of your regulatory body who are engaged in private practice may return to in-person elective/non-urgent care effective June 5, 2020.

As regulated private health care providers you are responsible to not only operate in accordance with the proposal, but also have an obligation to ensure your clients / patients comply with them. Ultimately, it is each provider's decision to recommence in-person elective/non-urgent care and on doing so, to assume any liability arising from their respective operations and care for provision.

Thank you for your ongoing commitment to the health and safety of your clients/patients as we adjust to the realities of living with covid-19.

Sincerely,

Robert Strang MD, MHSc, FRCPC

Chief Medical Officer of Health
