How to Apply:
The application is completed through the NSRPT Portal, where an account profile will need to be created.
To apply, please complete the NSRPT Initial Registration Application and select Path 5 – Temporary Licence Applicant. You will be asked to provide the dates you require the Temporary Licence, the reason you will be practising in Nova Scotia, and supporting documentation.
Please note: When NSRPT moved to the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA), the Initial Registration Application was not updated to reflect the new legislation and registration requirements. Some wording and document requirements may therefore relate to the previous registration framework. Please continue to select Path 5 – Temporary Licence Applicant.
Required Supporting Documents
Please provide the following documents with your Temporary Licence application:
- Completed Regulatory History Form;
- Proof of professional liability insurance of at least $5 million;
- Government-issued identification; and
- Proof that you are legally entitled to work in Canada.
Uploading Documents That Do Not Apply
The online application may require you to upload documents that are not required for a Temporary Licence application.
If the application will not allow you to continue without uploading a document that does not apply, please create a blank Word document, save it with a clear file name such as “Not Applicable – Temporary Licence” and upload it in that field.
You may use the same process for any other mandatory upload fields that do not apply to your application. These documents are only placeholders to allow you to complete and submit the application.
